In February of this year V-Day Sacramento’s hosted its 8th annual benefit performance of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues”. The event was sponsored by Sacramento Take Back the Night and 100% of proceeds benefitted The Sex Workers Outreach Project, Sacramento and the Gender Health Center.
For 20 years The Vagina Monologues has given a voice to experiences and feelings, not previously publicized or exposed, of the violence against women and girls and has brought a deeper consciousness to the conversation around ending that violence.
V-Day Sacramento has been an avid supporter of sex worker rights as human, civil, and labor rights. Advocating for all women to have control over their own bodies. 2019 marks the second time that SWOP Sacramento was a beneficiary.
